Training deployments and sail training

Long training deployments planned as one voyage, not as a list of ports

A training ship on a long deployment calls at ports that have no relationship with one another, carrying cadets who need documents, flights and accommodation, and running a programme of receptions and open days at almost every stop.

Planning each call on its own is how the same mistake is repeated in eleven ports. We hold the whole track as one file and carry what we learn forward along it.

What this covers, in full

Voyage planning

  • Multi-port itinerary planning across an entire deployment
  • A single point of contact for the whole track
  • Port suitability assessment for sail training vessels

People

  • Cadet and midshipman movements
  • Flights, accommodation and ground transport for crew rotation

Ceremonial and protocol

  • Reception and open day support
  • Liaison with embassies and consulates
  • Protocol and ceremonial arrangements

Visits and media

  • Media handling and official visits

Fleet activity

  • Support to fleet exercises and multinational deployments

How the work runs, in three steps

  1. Plan the track, not the ports

Crew rotations, stores and maintenance windows are placed across the whole deployment first. Ports are then fitted around them, rather than the other way round.

  2. Keep ceremonial and operational apart

Receptions, open days and official visits run on their own timeline and their own budget line. Folding them into the port call is how both of them slip.

  3. Carry one file the whole way

The same coordinator holds every call. What went wrong at the third port does not have to be discovered again at the ninth.

Across every area

What comes with the work, whatever the operation is

These are not a separate service line and they are not charged as one.

One point of contact
A named coordinator holds the file across ports, countries and service lines, and does not hand it on halfway through.
Screening and counterparty checks
Suppliers and subcontractors are checked against sanctions lists before use, and their ownership is rechecked when it changes.
Anti-bribery applied outward
The policy binds our suppliers as well as us. Where a payment is expected that we will not make, the client hears about it.
Tenders and framework agreements
Support to tender submissions, and management of the framework once it is in place, including its reporting obligations.
Cost control and consolidated billing
Costs broken down by port call, mission or deployment. One invoice, with every underlying document available behind it.
Insurance and risk
Insurance coordination including war risk, and risk assessment for personnel movements into difficult jurisdictions.

Tell us what the operation needs, and where

Ports, airfields, dates, volumes. Whatever is fixed so far is enough to start from.
